Our current project
Our current project is to keep going with our trainings and to help as much as possible different groups at risk of social marginalization, like we have been doing so far with the LGTBIQ+ community, deaf-mute people, orphans, homeless persons, blind people...
And we are currently working on creating a new model of trainings that can be adapted to work with people with other needs, like physically disabled people or neurodivergent people.
We believe that everyone has the right to learn, grow, and be independent, and helping people to achieve that has always been and will be our main goal.

Other projects

Earthquake
After the 2015 earthquake, we created a community support program for 250 families in Gorkha (a little remote village). We helped to construct around 200 new homes. A Spanish production company made a documentary about it that you can go check on our YouTube.
Covid-19
During the COVID-19 pandemic, we organized hot food for 300 people for 101 days and food supplies for cooking for 100 different families. We also sent medical supplies to 17 remote districts that had no access either to medicine or hospitals.
Nayno Kapada
"Nayno Kapada" is a meaningful social project by CMC, running for over 10 years. We collect clean, new or gently used clothes for all age groups to support people in need—especially those affected by disasters like floods, earthquakes, and landslides, or those facing poverty. Anyone can donate after communicating with our team, and drop clothes at our Cocina Dropbox. Likewise, individuals, communities, or organizations in need can collect clothes based on their requirements. This small yet impactful initiative plays a vital role in supporting vulnerable members of our society.
Fresco Himalaya Agro
We created the Peepalbot Agriculture Cooperative in a small mountain village in Gorkha, alongside the launch of Fresco Himalaya Agro, a social enterprise that connects over 300 local mountain farmers to national and international markets. By focusing on coffee, herbs, and sustainable agriculture, we aim to ensure fair income, promote eco-friendly practices, and strengthen rural communities. This initiative supports small-scale farmers with tools, training, and opportunities to grow — rooted in the belief that “Let’s grow together.”

Stay with us
Mitho Chha Kitchen offers 9 charming Bed and Breakfast rooms and a restaurant, all designed to provide a comfortable and memorable stay. Each room features abundant natural light, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Our house also boasts three spacious terraces, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the views. Located in a prime area near the embassy zone in Lazimpat, Kathmandu, our guests enjoy both convenience and charm. All funds generated from our Bed and Breakfast and restaurant go directly towards supporting the running of our cooking school and providing scholarships for young people from local orphanages, ensuring that every stay contributes to a brighter future.

Eat in our restaurant
Our restaurant, Cocina Mitho Chha, it means delicious kitchen! We aim to serve dishes varying from the traditional flavors of Nepali cuisine, and a modern touch of food—a mixture of traditional flavors with western dishes, especially from Catalonia—for a cosmopolitan menu. We use local ingredients from the fresh food market at Ason and organic whenever possible. We bring some organic vegetables like pumpkin, ginger, garlic, and honey from a mountain village called Takumajh Lakuribot, Gorkha, where we are supporting the villagers by buying their farm products.
Volunteer with Mitho Chha Kitchen and make a real impact! We are looking for people skilled in social media management, public relations, and marketing, and we also welcome language teachers, bartenders, waitstaff, cleaners, bakers, cheesemakers, and professionals who can share their skills and knowledge with our students. Join us in empowering local youth through education and training, while enjoying a unique experience in Kathmandu. You will have the chance to work hands-on with our students, help them develop practical skills, and inspire them to reach their full potential. Every moment you spend volunteering contributes directly to their growth and future opportunities, while giving you an unforgettable cultural and personal experience.
Volunteer with us

Our one-day classes are the perfect way to discover new skills, explore global flavors, and enjoy a unique cultural experience — all in just a few hours. Whether you're interested in Nepali cuisine, Indian spices, Chinese stir-fries, sushi basics, baking and pastry, or even latte art and barista techniques, we offer hands-on workshops led by experienced instructors in a warm and welcoming environment. You’ll prepare your own dish or drink from scratch, learn traditional techniques, and then sit down to enjoy the results. Classes are open to all levels and available for individuals, couples, or groups, with flexible pricing and plenty of recipe options to choose from. It's more than just a class — it's a chance to cook, learn, and support a meaningful project that empowers young people through hospitality education.
